Disney Cruise
Disney Cruise is an American cruise line company headquartered in Celebration, Florida. It is owned by the Walt
Disney Company. Disney Cruise Line has two ships; Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. They also own a private island in
the Bahamas known as the Castaway Cay which is an exclusive port of call for Disney ships.
If you are looking for a yesteryear setting and are craving for nostalgic ocean liner then
Disney cruise is the best choice. It does not have any casino. This cruise is best suited for families with elegant
onboard atmosphere with Disney characters that makes the cruise even more charming.
The Disney Cruise is totally inspired by the bygone era of ocean liner. It has the most luxurious interiors and
has loads of modern onboard amenities to offer. Disney Cruises are absolute beauties to watch. The ‘twin ships’
look gorgeous with their elongated dark blue hulls, red fennels and elaborated yellow emblem. They make the most
beautiful sight at the port.
Disney Cruise offers an excellent blend of elegance and family friendly atmosphere. Though the interiors are
quite luxurious it still has the light heartedness of the Disney characters which gives it a family feel. It caters
to all age groups including toddler, young kids, teens and adults. They are larger staterooms as compared to the
other cruise lines which gives passengers a roomier atmosphere.
The characteristic feature of a Disney Cruise is its horn. In addition to the traditional horn, both the Disney
ships play a seven-note melody from When You Wish upon a Star. No other cruise line has such an innovative and fun
feature.
Disney has a lot of innovations in their ship. One among them is the bath-and-a-half in every cabin and rotating
dining room schedules where the passengers get to dine at three different restaurants with the same table mates and
waiting staff. Also Disney was the first cruise line to launch the ‘soda card’ concept.
Although Disney Cruise offers the most elegant atmosphere with exceptional amenities and service, it still does
not have casinos and libraries. It can be a letdown for people who love to gamble and read while onboard.
In 2007, Disney announced the addition of two more ships which would be built by Meyer Werft, Germany. These
ships would be 2 decks taller than the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder with 1,250 staterooms each. These 122,000 ton
ships are scheduled to debut in 2011 and 2012.
